Biosolutions will shape the future

October 2024

AustroCel Hallein is a showcase for industrial scale up

AustroCel Hallein had the honor of welcoming distinguished guests from the field of European Biosolutions. Sofie Carsten Nielsen, Director of Biosolutions and the European Biosolutions Coalition, as well as former Minister of Education and Research of Denmark, visited our plant and was impressed by the integration of bio-based processes into our industry.

“It was a great experience to see how a traditional industry can be integrated and innovated with new processes and bio-based products. AustroCel Hallein is a prime example of the future of European industry. They are showing us that pioneering the sustainability journey not only includes future viability but also resilience and competitiveness for Europe. Many thanks to the Federation of Austrian Industries for the invitation!” said Sofie Carsten Nielsen at the conclusion of her visit.

She was accompanied by Marit Itamar Rystrom, Leading Senior Advisor of the Confederation of Danish Industry, and Maximilian Mauthe from the Federation of Austrian Industries. Together, they toured our facilities and engaged in an in-depth discussion about the future of biosolutions in Europe.

Biosolutions – a path to a sustainable industry

Biological, industrial, and green solutions—known as biosolutions—offer a powerful means to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and climate-friendly industry. The EU Biosolutions Coalition is committed to driving the green transformation and bringing biosolutions higher on the European agenda.

AustroCel Hallein is proud to be part of this development and looks forward to contributing to the promotion of biosolutions in Europe. We sincerely thank our guests for their visit and the valuable exchange!
